TBTB = Throwback Thursday for Books

Remember those books you read before Blogging, or during a time you just weren’t in the mood to write Reviews? Let’s talk about them now.

„Asylum“ by Madeleine Roux

AsylumSuch a promising idea, the physical book one of the prettiest and scariest I’ve seen in a while, even the writing style is okay… but where there is so much potential, there is always the chance of a let down. And Asylum delivered just that.

The characters seem interesting on the outside, but the more you get to know them, the more shallow, boring and predictive they get.
The same with the end, it was easy to guess who was behind everything.

In places, for 2 or 3 pages, the story picked up and got really good, but the next pages always let you down again.

I’m not saying don’t read it, if you are easily scared you might enjoy it, and for the pictures and the pretty book alone it is worth a buy and looks awesome on your shelf. I might even give the second book a try to see if it gets better, this one just wasn’t for me.

(Maybe my expectations were too high going in.)
